The King River in Victoria meanders through the very beautiful King River Valley  before joining up with the Ovens River near Wangaratta. This river is not a wide or deep river and there are many attractive sandy and rocky spots alongside for picnics.  The King River rises high in the Victorian Alps near Mt. Howitt
