Falls Creek a very popular skiing resort with trendy young people.  In winter these mountains are covered with snow. In summer the area is still tremendously popular with bush walkers and the like enjoying the wonderfully clean mountain.  For more information scroll down.

The township or alpine village at Falls Creek  is rather unique as it is actually set on the side of the mountain and there is very little flat ground at all.  The atmosphere is a mixture of European and Australian.  It is not the highest mountain in this group, but never-the-less one of the most popular.

Generally everyone has their own favourite skiing spot.  Mt Hotham of course is  perhaps the best and once you have reached the top the land opens up into wide plains which is a very welcome break from the very mountainous terrain that one encounters in this area.  From Mt. Hotham you can see across to Mt Kosciusko in New South Wales and the highest mountain in Australia.
