Grandmother thought Australia was a very primitive and God forsaken country and believed it should all be returned to the Aboriginals forthwith, then she and Charles would return to Dublin and live happily ever after.  This of course never happened.  However in true pioneer spirit she adapted and I think finally came to terms with Australia in her own way.  She  never did get use to the terrible heat - as she called it.
