Mount Beauty  in the Upper Kiewa Valley is the last town before the very steep ascent to Falls Creek skiing resort except of course for the Bogong Devonshire Tea Rooms.

A very neat attractive town already some thousands of metres high in the Victorian Alps.  Mt Beauty grew in size when it was the  accommodation centre for  workers on the Kiewa Hydro-electric scheme in the 1940s.
