The Flowering Red Gum  an Australian native tree has a very hard black bark with soft greeny grey foliage.  For about 8 weeks in spring and summer it is covered  with fluffy flame coloured flowers.  There is also a variety that produces cream coloured flowers.  Approximate height after 10 years is 10 x 5 m. and at maturity 20 x 10 m.
